Crochet Flower Scarf

 Modeled by Julia (my sister)
In Feburary I was contacted thru email by Autumn in Maryland she asked me if I would be able to make her a flower scarf that her daughter had bought. she had try to find the scarf but was unsuccessful. so when she came across my blog she emailed me and I told her to send me the pictures and I would see what I could do.
A couple of days later she sent me pictures of the scarf and I started making up the pattern from them.
I just finished making the scarf. however, about a month ago my email for my blog was hacked and I was not able to get into that email account and because of that I don't know her email to inform her that her scarf is done. So, I pray that she will check my blog and see this post so that she will email me so that I can send her scarf to her. Here are the pictures of the scarf that Autumn took and pictures of the scarf that I made.
let me know what you think....do you think that they look the same or one is better then the other? I am looking forward to what all my readers have to say. I really loved this challenge, it was fun, frustrating and at the end rewarding. :)  the pattern will be posted on the 9th..

"JAZZ"

Are you a fan of the Utah Jazz, My brother in law is and so for his Christmas present I made him a "Jazz" Blanket. It took some time designing the pattern and then it took around three months to make it. After loads of frustration and undoing it millions of times, I finally got it finished. On Christmas morning when he opened his present he was really happy and surprised. It made my heart sing knowing that I was able to make him something that he is going to love.

White Elegant Rose Scarf Pattern - Designed by Marie

I made this Scarf several different times for Christmas presents (2009)
I already posted about this Black Elegant Rose Scarf  so if you would like to take a look at it just click on the name and it will take you right there, I will also be post one that I made for my sister next week)
This one I made for my friend Tiffany.
(the pictures are of her right after she opened her present).
I find a flower mofit and made 11 of them and put them together and then add fringe to both ends and it turned out amazing. I think you should do the same. I find this Flower in 150 Crochet Trims by: Susan Smith. Here is the flower pattern I used.

Skill Level: Challenging/complex ( just a note, if you have crochet before and are really good at it you will find that this is not that hard to make. however, if you are tempting to make this and you only know alittle bit about crocheting then can I suggest that you wait and try it later, it is complex if you don't know the tech.).

Method:
Picot = make 3ch, sl st into first of these ch.

Make 8 ch, sl t in first ch to form a ring.

Round 1: 3 ch, 15 dc in ring, sl st in 3rd of 3 ch at beg of round.
Round 2: 5ch, (1 dc in next dc, 2ch) 15 times, sl st in 3rd in of 5 ch at beg of round
Round 3: 1 ch. 3 sc in each of the 16 2-ch loops, sl st in first sc.
Round 4: 1 ch, 1 sc in same sc as the last sl st. *6 ch, skip 5 sc,1 sc in next sc, rep from * 6 times, 6 ch, sl st in first sc.
Round 5: sl st in first 6 ch loop, 1 ch, ( 1 sc, 1 hdc, 6 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc) in each of the 8 6 ch loops, sl st in first sc. (8 petals)
Round 6: 1 ch, working behind each petal of previous round, 1 sc in first sc on 4th round, *7ch, 1 sc in next sc on 4th round, rep from * 6 times, 7 ch, sl st in first sc.
Round 7: sl st in first 7 ch loop, 1 ch ( 1 sc, 1hdc, 7dc, 1hdc, 1sc) in each of the 8 7 ch loops, sl st in first sc.
Round 8: 1 ch working behind each petal of pervious round, rep from * 6 times, 8 ch, sl st in first sc.
Round 9: sl st in first 8 ch loop, 1 ch (1sc, 1 hdc, 3 dc, picot, 2 dc, picot, 3 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc) in each of the 8 8 ch loops, sl st in first dc. Fasten off.

Shantz vest

I did a lot better making Shantz's vest then I did Daxton's. It was the second vest that I had made. I made it also in one day. Shantz just loved watching me make it. he was so excited that I was making him a vest he was jumping up and down from the time that I started making it to when I finished. I do have to say that I am glad that it turned out a lot better then the first one. It's been very educational and lots of fun. I can't wait until I make Daxton
a new vest so that it will fit him.

Cave Man Vest

I made this vest for my four year old Nephew Daxton in one day. He just loves it. He watched me make it and said that now he needs a hat. My sister and I call it the Cave Man vest because it was the first vest that I had made and it was very big on Daxton. I had to fix it several times before I got it to fit him. It's still to big on him, but he loves it.

"Julia's" Afghan

This is a Granny/block Afghan
My sister chose the colors and I made the design.
I started getting back into crocheting in 2007, when I moved back home to Utah.
When I was in my teen years, My mother and Grandmother taught me the basics.
So, it wasn't that hard to start crocheting again.
I find some books on crocheting different blocks and techniques.
I find that I loved and had a niche for crocheting.
When I was designing my sister's Afghan I wanted to not only make it the best that I could but also to express how much I loved her.
She has been my support and strength through out the years, she has always been there for me encouraging to better myself.
I wanted her to know that I love her and that I am so grateful that she is apart of my life.

"Donny's" Afghan

This is an All Block Afghan
This was a gift to my brother Donny, of which he chose the colors and the blocks. I designed the Afghan.

The blocks that were used:
A star, Bobbles, Diamonds, and swirls.

This Afghan at first was going to be a graduation present for my brother, as the year went by, and undoing it because it was not working out the way I wanted it to. ( I did take a couple of Months off because of the headache that I keep getting). when my brother's graduation came and went, it became a birthday present.
then when his birthday came and went, and it still was not done, I made up my mind that no matter what or how mad I got. I was going to have it done by Christmas. Of which it took alot of work and I finally got it done Christmas Eve. ( calling it really close) I was so excited that it was finally done, I could not wait to see my brother face when he got it christmas morning. Even my sister was happy that is was done. For she keep asking when I was going to have it for Donny, and that she was sick of hearing that I keep putting it off.

I have learned a lot from this Afghan.
That it will be awhile until I make another all block Afghan.
