1. Begin with a foundation chain and insert the hook from front to back into the second chain from the hook. Wrap the yarn over the hook (yo) and draw it through the first loop, leaving two loops on the hook.
2. To complete the stitch, yarn over (yo) and draw it though both loops on the hook, leaving one loop on the hook. Continue in this way, working one Single Crochet (sc) into each chain.
3. At the end of the row, turn, work one chain for the turning chain (remember that this chain does not count as a stitch). Insert the hook into the first single crochet (sc) at the beginning of the row. Work a single crochet (sc) into each stitch of the previous row. being careful to work the final stitch into the last stitch of the row, but not into the turning chain.
