Introducing Ellen from GoCrochet!

GoCrochet is not only my motto, but also my blog site. This past year, my blog readers have virtually gone with me on my journey of writing my first crochet book for F+W/Krause Media. It will be in stores in May, 2011. Also in the past year, readers have gone with me, behind the scenes, to the Knit and Crochet Now tv show. This July, readers are going with me to Manchester, New Hampshire for the Knit and Crochet Show, and the National conference for the Crochet Guild of America (CGOA). At the conference, I'll be teaching the the CGOA's Professional Development Day on the Business of Crochet. I have made crochet my business since 2004 when I began designing crocheted projects for magazines, books, and yarn companies. The past year or two I have blogged about my crochet design passion with a few cute animal and kid photos thrown in.

GoCrochet Readers get "sneak peeks" before a new design hits the printed page. Before the design gets to the sneak peek stage there are many issues a designer faces. I have talked about these issues at length, like making business and design goals, what makes a good design?, what issues do I think about when creating a new design? Readers enjoy the insight into the design process and many of them are aspiring designers themselves.

Occasionally I run across a fun tip or trick to tell my readers about. We did an in-depth 'how-to-repair-a-granny-square' tutorial that was a learning experience for everyone!

Sometimes I post photos that are companions to my online pattern store. Here's a photo from the popular Tunisian Lace Ascot, which was originally published in Interweave Crochet, Spring, 2008 and now is available as an individual PDF.

Thank you Marie, for inviting me to introduce myself to your community of readers!

Your Welcome Ellen, I hope that you take the time to stop over on her blog, its amazing. when I came across her site and learned that she was a crochet designer I got excited, plus that she has had many of her crochet patterns published I knew right away that I wanted my readers to know about her. I am so truly grateful for Ellen from GoCrochet for taking the time to introduce herself to my readers.
